Each apartment hosts a very spacious kitchen and living area with all the appliances that you would want and need.

There is a new color TV hooked up to Costa Rica's popular SKY Satellite TV. We have also supplied a DVD player and have over 200 top rated DVD's in the library at the main house for your use.

For those of you who demand hi-speed internet, we have spent the money on a system to make sure you have it. You will find wireless hi-speed internet that runs at about 2 MGs and is very reliable.

In the center of the apartments, you will find a conveniently located full bath. The hot water system is a German made on-demand system that provides all the hot water you need. The toilets are American Standard's latest water efficient models.

Each apartment has a large queen bedroom that is really much larger than the picture shows. The bed has an American made top of the line pillow-top queen mattress with 600 count sheets to make for very comfortable sleeping.

There is a large wall closet that provides for more than ample closet space and storage.

There is also a sliding door that opens to the patio.

From the lower apartment, this is a view of the estate property with the beautiful mountains of Costa Rica in the background.

The apartments are located far enough from the main house to insure your privacy, yet just a short walk so you can enjoy the pool area that also features a rancho for entertaining.

They are both so warm and friendly and completely informed about life in Atenas. Lastly, let me say that the rental rates for Casita Mango are extremely reasonable for Atenas where short-term, furnished rentals are expensive and in short supply. I had the opportunity to take a sabbatical in Costa Rica for almost a full year. I do own a small home in Atenas and while waiting for my tenants to finish their term I stayed at Casita Mango for a month. I absolutely loved the apartment and often used the rocking chairs while sitting on the veranda…the views were lovely and Abby, Stef and Pete’s sweet dog, often came to visit me. Unfortunately, they would not let me take her home when I went to my own home a month later but I think I still have visitation rights…

Stef and Pete are very helpful and will go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need and more. In fact, I had two friends stay with me for a few weeks and they made them quite welcome as well. Hacienda Atenas is one of the nicest communities in Atenas with gorgeous hills and views. For price and comfort (these are newer apartments and well built with all the amenities) you cannot do better. Although my sabbatical is over, I consider Stef and Pete good friends now and look forward to seeing them soon!

My husband and I are staying here for several weeks. Can't say enough about how nice this place is. We're just about 2.25 miles from the center of town in Hacienda Atenas, a development of about 50 lots spread over a large, very hilly area. Our apartment is the upstairs half of a two-story, two-apartment building that shares spacious grounds with the owner/landlord's home.

The apartment is a small but lovely. It's very well-designed with a bedroom, a living room/kitchen combo, and a bathroom. There's also a nice balcony with a view of the hills across the road.

The bed is comfortable, all linens are nice, the place is well-lit and well-ventilated and has fans (which we haven't needed), the water in the kitchen and bath is hot (with a hot water heater rather than a suicide shower!), both the tile work and cabinetry are tasteful and nicely done, and -- best of all -- the kitchen is quite well equipped! It has a microwave, blender, coffee maker, sharp knives, flatware and dishes, pot holders, towels, a few supplies, along with a smallish but adequate fridge, stove, and sink. No dishwasher but (surprisingly) we haven't missed it.

Stef and Pete (the owners) are great. They're right here on the premises and have been very helpful and accommodating, whether we've needed files printed and scanned, a ride to town (we sometimes hitch a ride when Stef goes in; otherwise, cab fare is $4 one way), Lizano sauce for the gallo pinto we decided to make at the last minute, the name and phone number of a cab driver who speaks English, or whatever. They've also thought of a lot of nice little extras, like an umbrella and a bookshelf with books in English,

We've had only one problem here -- a temporary lack of hot water. Pete got right on top of the situation and had it fixed quickly. He also offered to move us to another rental so we wouldn't be without hot water but we declined.

Two more pluses. One is Internet service that works (I've been working several hours a day almost every day and have had no problems with communications; I do have to mention though that my husband has been unable to transfer a ginormous video file he's been working on, so the local Internet service does have some limitations). Another plus (for us) are the resident cat and dog that give us a pet fix regularly. They live with Pete and Stef but we coax them to come over here often.

One final thing. Because we're staying for a few weeks and this is the shoulder season, we've gotten a great great rate on our stay.

Cant' tell you how much we're enjoying Casita Mango (oh, yeah, it's surrounded by mango trees and they're bearing). We heartily recommend this place to almost any single person or couple who seeks quiet, nice surroundings, and reasonable proximity to Atenas. Love it.

I have lived in Costa Rica for eight years and have rented homes, condos, and apartments in Puntarenas, Escazu, Santa Ana, and Atenas. Yes, you could say my wife and I know what being a tenant in this wonderful country is like. In all but a couple cases, the landlords were just beyond reality.

Recently, we were faced with some health issues and had to leave a home we really loved. We looked endlessly for a place with no immediate luck causing us to find a short-term rental to carry us over until we found a home more suitable for us. We contacted Pete and Stef knowing that they had a cute kind of condo duplex (if you may). I say that because many condos I have stayed in do not have all the personal touches that this place does. If you are coming to Costa Rica on vacation, or need a place to stay while finding a home, Pete and Stef's place will insure you feel comfortable from the moment you arrive. We couldn't believe the first day we arrived and how we were shown some of the basics. The grounds alone are maintained perfectly. A shared pool area and your own BBQ area led up to the porch with rocking chairs, and a view that made us feel like we were on a vacation. But that was just the beginning actually. The place had everything needed less clothes to be called home. Truly, it was nicer than anywhere we had ever lived before here in Costa Rica. The recessed lighting, ceiling fans, beautiful cabinets and wonderful windows allowing great natural light are really a tasteful touch. The kitchen and bathroom were stocked with everything you need and done in pure quality.

Sorry this sounds like a sales pitch, but you will say the same. The amount of work and dedication they have put into this place could actually compete with your best memories of Costa Rica. Leave your doubts somewhere else when it comes to where to stay while you're in the area.

Thanks Pete for a great place and being a perfect solution for our short-term needs. Stef, it is really obvious you have put your whole heart into making sure your clients will leave this place with new ideas on how to make their own home more comfortable. We thank both of you for reminding us once again that Costa Rica is a beautiful country.
